On your post of 9 Nov, you said that “the one that they had for me would not fit in the space available”. Doesn’t sound like they had the right master cylinder. Sounds like you have replaced everything else in the braking system. Yes??? I would either get a new replacement or rebuilt master cylinder or rebuild the one that is in the car. …[Read more]

the hot rod shop I took it too this past Saturday wants about $1,200. or a little more to put in larger rotors and 11 inch calipers, which he said would make a lot of difference.
If I am to add a power booster, the master cylinder would have to be relocated. I’m probably looking at a different brake pedal lever, too. This will be another $2…[Read more] -

I hear you about the head scratching. I have a Daytona MiGi which had severe braking problems. I was within a whisker of cutting a hole into the fiberglass behind the drivers wheel to allow me to get access to the bolts that hold the brake cylinder in place. Turns out that I had read about others doing that. Luckily, my gas tank was empt…[Read more]

No need for files much bigger than 5-8 megs, man. But don’t worry too much about the file size being too big.Your camera should’ve come with a cord that can plug into the back of your computer. Plug it in and turn on the camera; the computer will “see” it. Most times an icon will appear on your desktop, and sometimes a window will pop up with a…[Read more]

Back in the 60-70’s I had a TF 1500. I believe that my original wires (I had 2 sets) for my TF 1500 were 48 spoke painted silver. One day I was riding home from work and there was a set alongside the road: Chrome 60 spokers from an Austin Healey. The guy wanted $100 for 5 of them. Guess what I did.

It is possible that wires from back in the 1980’s are from Dayton.
They used to produce a 15″, 52 spoke real wire wheel for the VW bolt pattern. Why 52 spoke? Count the spokes on an aftermarket MG TD wheel. Yup…52.
They dropped that wheel from their product line years ago. -

Used a relay. According to ASA Master Mechanic son it will save the switch and some wiring from overcurrent.

If you have a machine shop nearby maybe they could replicate those spline adaptors & make a couple batches for sale. I don’t even know what that kind of thing ought to cost though.

I have a very nice DSLR that shoot over 21K MP. I was supposed to be on the track this Saturday, but my Honda S2K is still in the body shop, so it looks like I’ll miss an instructional day with the local SCCA club.
Hopefully I can get some photos of my TDs this weekend, but I’m not exactly sure how to transfer them from camera to computer, and…[Read more] -

I’ve got wire knock offs on Winston now with a VW 4 bolt pattern but they came with the car from Allison when it was new back in 1981 and I don’t know who the company got them from. I’ll see if I can post a pic of the adapter that bolts to the VW drum. Sure would like to find a set for a reasonable price.
