Jack, you lost me when you “pulled the start knob”. How do you have this thing set up?

To all of you FORD TDr owners out there — (especially our expert in residence — Billnparts — )
I’m having starting issues with ManyPenny — it starts but only in certain positions of the crankshaft (I think)
Here’s the rest of the story: When I pull the start knob, the engine may turn over a bit and then come to a halt. When I release t…[Read more]

Well, it turns out that the ad on Kijiji was some kind of scam, as the lady (?) was advertising the exact same car that is currently on sale by Prototype Research , and she has no connection with them whatsoever. Maybe she was hoping someone would just send her a deposit. I don’t know what her game plan was. And she was asking $1000 more for…[Read more]

Yes, I’ve heard those seat warmers can be quite high maintenance.

It might be worth the investment if the blonde seat heater came with. Maybe. They can be expensive in their own right.

Bear in mind the price is in CAD, so that would be about USD$13900
And a factory build should be in its favor. Any comments on Prototype Research?
The seller sent me some more photos – certainly the car looks in perfect condition – everything very nice and shiny. clearly it has been kept indoors all those years.
I will grill her about the…[Read more]

Noel. You are correct tires for sure and possibly the jel coat depending on how it sat all that time; like stored under cover, out of elements in carport/garage etc. I would definitely check the brakes. Probably change the fluid and any rubber brake hoses. The metal portions of the brake lines should be okay…just need a good cleaning out when…[Read more]

Thank you guys for weighing in with your opinions. All very helpful and much appreciated.
I do realise these are old (unsafe) cars. Was just wondering if they could be made less unsafe, but I guess not.
I am still looking for one, but the real challenge is how far away they all are. Well, I am not in a hurry, so will just take my time with it…[Read more]

Well, I spent the weekend pulling parts off the car and making repairs to the truck. I chained the truck to a tree and used a come-a-long to pull the vertical support in the rear corner of the bed straight again. using a floor jack on its side and some wood blocks I got the upper part of that post to straighten up. I removed and beat the hell out…[Read more]
