The rear spring is full length, not cut in two like most of the kits (on a Ford at least). The headlight mounts are cast aluminum and look tubular. I was under the impression that all Lafers were on a VW chassis, but I may be wrong. I took lots of pictures, but need to figure out how to downsize them and send them. I have the top bows for my…[Read more]

Larry,”alpha-numeric” only means they want you to use letters and numbers, with no “special characters.I’m not sure if “case” matters. try doing your user id in all lower case letters and see if that works.

urious as well. Could it be a Daytona Migi II or a Lafer? There is one kit maker that makes the top with three bows. Another possibility is it could be a replacement top and bow assembly from either MG Magic or even Moss Motors. Not like I know a lot about these kits…just thinking out loud.

Spent all day Saturday a couple weeks ago in Bridget, a VW-based car with what I think is a 1500cc, and I know is a single-port, single carb, 1966-case engine. 50 horses, in other words–about the minimum you’ll be getting in a TD Replica. We did 70-75 mph easily ’round the Baltimore Beltway and onto I-795 without incident. Drove 100 miles to…[Read more]

Thanks Paul,
I just checked and we have nine days left here, the registration has not been renewed as of this morning. I believe this portion of the site is thru Web Wiz Forums, and is hosted separate, but still belongs to Frank. I have saved all my personal photos that are in this site to Photobucket already. The registry graphics and…[Read more] -

Donna,
I enjoy the power, speed, and availability of parts of my Ford 2.3L based replica. It most definitely is not a daily driver or a long drive vehicle. I have seen the VW based replica’s zip around without effort. I personally have not driven the VW based replicas, so I can only speak about my front engine baby. The cargo space is very limited…[Read more] -

As I said before, the top is a very intricate system of articulated bows. It looks like a real 3 bow system. The hood is glass, and the louvers are dummys as in most kit cars, The only thing that even remotely looks like it might have been identification is a round spot on the firewall tthat is about 2 1/2 inches in diameter that has three sm…[Read more]

Paul, What is an alphanumeric character? I have tried using a combination of capital and lower case letters along with numbers but it always changes the capital letters to lower case and shows the user name as invalid. Every thing about the application works except the user name.
Thanks for all you are doing to keep tdreplica .com go…[Read more] -

Donna, I to am very much in love with the TD and have been for over 50 years. The classic design with the long hood and sweeping fenders is my idea of ageless beauty. However, the MGTD was built in a time of two lane curvey roads and much less traffic at a slower pace. The TD replicas are usually able to handle higher speeds then the…[Read more]
