Congrats on your new toy. Looks like a fun winter project. Any idea about what color you’re going to paint it? Keep sending us pics as you progress.

Good news!
Look forward to following your car-building adventure.
BTW, Jack, here’s what your engine should look like (sans the cone air filters, of course!)

I can not imagine a “kit” being cleaner and with more promise than Jack’s new toy. An “adult erector set”. Many of the fancy pieces are still in factory wrap.
I’m stupid on Ford 2.3 engines (and drivetrains). Did these things come with crossflow heads from the factory? Looks to be a super nice exhaust header and a 2bbl Weber carb on the oth…[Read more]

I just got home from picking up this Ford-Based TD kit. Now the fun begins!! hopefully not quite as much “fun” as Ed is having…
Luckily there are a few front engine Ford kit owners out there that I can turn to for their sage wisdom and sound advice!!

Hey Ed,
Lookin’ Good!! So as I count it up, you have a fiberglass fabrication shop, a metal fabrication shop, a paint shop, a lift and a lot of patience…and a fine “Cardboard Cad System” all of which makes you the envy of every “Big Boy’s Car Kit Maker” out there — especially me!!
Keep on Build’in
Happy Jack

Leo replied to the topic Fuel tank vent in the forum Chevy/Ford Kits 7 years, 8 months ago
Looks like that huge hole going to the tank even making the 90* turn would carry the fuel. Mine actually pushes fuel up past the nozzle and out the filler neck unless I barely dribble it in, very aggravating. Do you have the vent in the filler neck and is it vented to atmosphere? If so I suppose I guess it is just something I’ll have to…[Read more]

billnparts replied to the topic Fuel tank vent in the forum Chevy/Ford Kits 7 years, 8 months ago
I doubt the problem is the vent. The fill neck has a 90* angle right at the tank. You’ve got to nurse fuel in or the auto shutoff on the gas pump nozzle clicks off. There are some local stations I cannot use because it constantly shuts off. Also, make sure the clamps on the fill neck hose are tight.
The vent line that goes to the front was used f…[Read more]

Have trouble filling tank without gas overflowing in FF Ford. I was gona check if vent is stopped up and apparently someone in the past has run the vent in filler neck to a T in return. Diagram in assembly manual doesn’t show which lines are which. What I assume was vent line goes to front of car near fuel pump and just ends to open atmosphere.…[Read more]
