Just use the standard VW Beetle cable and cut the excess length at the carburetor.
Phil
Ps. Where are you located?

Hoping a VW owner chimes in here, but when I swapped the engine in my front powered TD, the cable was much longer than needed. I simply added a loop in the cable and routed it with a long arc. Several years and no issues. Too long is a better problem than too short. (Many jokes applicable)

New to the group, so I don’t know if this is the correct place to post. Thanks. I picked up a Fiberfab that needs restoration. It runs (barely). First thing it needs is a throttle cable replacement. My buddy gave me one he bought but has the incorrect end for the pedal part. So I pulled the existing cable and it is maybe 12-14 inches shorter. I…[Read more]

This is from a Washington Post story about Miss Texas, who happens to be the first Asian-American Miss TX, and happens to be telling kids about diversity, equity & inclusion & etc. in a state that’s basically outlawed all that stuff. Made me love her even more.

Agree with Ed. When I had my top made about 20 years ago the canvas shop wanted about $150 more than the stock top from MG Magic. As a plus they inserted a nylon piece at front of top where it goes into the slot in windshield frame. I have never had an issue with top coming off at speed.

The original top might fit. But I wouldn’t chance it. All the different kit brands are a little different from each other and a little different from the original item.
Best thing is find a place that makes Bimini tops for boats. Extra points if the old top is good enough to take a pattern from.
I would not DiY this job without a big walking…[Read more]
