My first car, a 1960 emerald green four door hardtop 1960 Chevy Impala. I didn’t appreciate that car when I had it and now I regret ever having sold it.

Bill,Our place in PA is only a few miles off of Rt. 220 and, as I
reckon it, about an hour and a half shy of your destination. We’re up
there a good bit of the time as we get ready to move there permanently,
and could probably arrange to be there when you come through. We’d be
honored if you could work it out to stop by. -Dave -

How about the old Datsun/Nissan 240/280 engine with a 5 speed behind it, these are cheap and plentyfull with a lot of tuning goodies around too! Finding a Jaguar motor is the easy part, finding a manual transmission is the hard and expensive part. John

Hi Bill, This looks like something else we have in common, I’ve have a lot of E types but never a silver one. I think I’ve had at least one of every other colour they made over the years. Regards John the brit

Oh. Wait a minute. You’re talking about cars. Sorry was distracted there for a minute.
I’ve always lusted after an XKE. Never had one. And don’t really have a history of cars I let slip away.First car was a 1965 Dodge Coronet 500 Convertible with factory air. But about fifteen years ago, I got close with my 1965 Plymouth…[Read more] -

You’re welcome here regardless of what car you end up building. How made this kit? You say they are still in business, albeit not in the kit car business. That’s a surprise.About the roof bars…you are right, the front one is sitting too low. It is possible the two bars are reversed. Quick way to tell…does the rear bar align with a seam in the…[Read more]

Here’s the one I miss the most, even with its Lucas Electrical System. This car always reminded me of a sexy lady, you just want to rub every part of it. It was about $6,000 brand new as I remember. It was 1969, and I just got a medical discharge after 10-1/2 years from the Marine Corps, and what better thing could I blow my money on.

Hi Guys.About 2 months ago I had my MGB out for a ride in the AZ sunshine. after some 20 miles when the car was running like a watch I was aware of the hood getting larger????? A large bubble formed on the hood, the car still ran fine. I pulled over and turned the car off, placing the key in the cup holder. At that point a fireball came out from…[Read more]

Hi GuysSome further intel re the huge Jaguar lights on the SS 100. These were lucas units and measured 12″ across the front the model was the P100 lamp. All the kits I have ever seen that us a BIG lamp use a standard 7′ lamp inside a repop 12″ shell. The Suffolk cars etc are a hand made perfect replica, meaning there are the real deal and p…[Read more]

I just went through the replacement tank process. Like you, I have a FiberFab titled in 1983 so I assume that you will be using the same tank that I did.
I got this 1961-1967 tank from JBugs for $130. The fill spout had to be cut down because it’s too long to fit under the hood as is. The local welder charged me $40 for that. Had it insta… -

Not sure there would be enough length for a Jag. Lotus engines are some of my favorites. 4 cyl.Probably the cheapest way to get one of them is to buy a rusted out Jensen Healey. Nice (albeit a 4 speed) gearbox also.

Didn’t we talk about this before? Count yourself lucky and buy a new tank. Please cut no corners on brakes or gas.

I’d say $1000 or $1200 could work for both of you. You could go nuts and put a Jag engine in it. That’d impress them down at the cruise in.

I talked to the seller. He is quite a talker – heard all kinds of details, some even about this kit. He’s a motorhead from way back and I heard a bunch of stuff about other projects he’s done before or in the middle of “getting around to” now. Nice guy.
At the risk of counting chickens, sounds like I got it if I want it. Just have to settle on a… -

Hope so, Jack!
No, this shifter is lift the shift knob to get reverse. You actually are lifting the whole lever. It’s like the old Chevy/Hurst shifters. The feel of the gear selection is much like your shifter, in terms of positive feel, lack of “slop,” etc. It’s not identical though we’d have to test side-by-side to discern the… - Load More
