Looking good Bill. For some reason, I thought you were putting your wire wheels back on.

I had the paint so I decided to paint my wheels the same color as the body.
With the trim ring…
Tomorrow I’ll order chrome grease caps for the front hub. I’m going to search for factory caps. Anybody with a set of mid ’90’s Mustang Police Car wheel center caps let me know.

Sorry to hear Mrs. Peel will be leaving you. Hope she enjoys her new home and hopefully she’ll be close enough that you will get to see her now and again. What’s next? Is there a Mrs. Peel II in the future?newkitman2013-09-22 12:30:13

I have my oil temp sensor in the oil pressure relief valve plug. It’s made for a stock oil pressure relief valve and replaces the plug that gets the screwdriver slot stripped out most of the time. But like Kent says its a challenge routing the lead. But once routed and hooked up you don’t have to remove it until next engine rebuild.

Actually there is one more option. If you want to have oil pressure, oil temperature and also an idiot light, there is a special sender that combines the pressure and an idiot light into one sender for about $40. Then with a “T” you could add oil temperature. This would give you 3 indicators of what’s going on with your oil and could be co…[Read more]

I have an old-school VDO temp gauge that uses a special dipstick as the sending unit. Like the one on the drain plug, it measures the oil temp in the sump – which should be the coolest location. I’ve tried sensors in three locations over the years — each location has pros and cons:
1. Oil drain plug — gives a good reading of temp in the oil su… -

Repairs made, sanded and panels installed. Now to install the hood and grille and mark the side cowls to trim and fit. Then paint tomorrow and reassemble the front end. Getting closer every day.

The paint I plan to use tomorrow (rain forecast for today) is PPG acrylic urethane I purchase from our local Automotive Paint and Equipment (APE) shop. Matched perfectly as you can see in my building moneypenny-part 5 thread.

I’ve had good lock with Kirker paints as an affordable system. It’s less than 1/4 price of name brands, but color list is limited.http://www.smartshoppersinc.com/kirker/acrylic-urethanes.html

Installing oil temp gauge and sender was one of the first mods I made to mine. I chose to put a “T” in where the oil pressure switch was located and install both an oil temp and oil pressure gauges.
Reliable? Mine tracks very well with my hand held infra red thermometer.Get it at the cheapest place you trust. VDO is VDO -

Haven’t painted yet. The pic of the painted corner didn’t come out.Let’s try again.

billnparts replied to the topic Building Moneypenny-Part 5 in the forum My Project 11 years, 11 months ago
My guess is the upper left. No paint in the holes in the lower left. If you painted the corners on the right side you need to do it again.

I don’t like the color !!!The can of paint the supplier gave me free last spring turned out to be too light…like milk chocolate. I purchased ($83) a quart of darker brown( selected from a book of paint chip samples). After application, in the sunlight, this is from the wrong end of the color spectrum. It has a tinge of green in it. I cannot like…[Read more]

35 years ago, I was tuning the carbs on my MGTF and wanted to close the garage door since it was bitter cold outside. Thought it a good idea to use a vacuum cleaner hose so that I could run it and work inside, just like the real mechanics down at Checkered Flag Imports. Ended up buying my wife a new vacuum cleaner. Cheap hose ended up a mo…[Read more]

it looks like the head if the martian attack wings from “War of the Worlds” 1953. Or maybe the alien space ships from “Robinson Crusoe on Mars” 1964? Am I dating myself?

Centari…a single stage polyurethane. It doesn’t go on as easy as the marine paint I used on the main body. Adding thinner to the paint causes the foam rollers to expand and fall off the roller handle. Luckily they’re really cheap at Harbor Freight. Applied the last I had tonight. As far as application, the initial rolling on of the paint causes…[Read more]
