Does anyone attend this, I’m planning on attending, Probably bring my motorhome and trailer car. It looks like a good show. I’m mostly interested in meeting people and looking at other cars. Mostly stealing ideas. I’ld like to see what else is out there.
Also would like to buy a badge for Ally if you all have an extra one.
And i saw where you have a fund drive for the site more than willing to pay my way. let me know whats fair.
You guys have been great
November 23, 2009 at 9:33 pm #240080I have heard great things and seen some great photos of the event. I am not for sure, but I think there is a waiting list on the TD Replica badges.
Whatever you feel like donating toward keeping the site running is greatly appreciated. I think the typical is 20 to 30 bucks, but whatever you would like to do is great. Frankie has been footing the bill for a long time. I will be updating the registry tomorrow and will add your car name as Ally, if that is okay.

November 23, 2009 at 10:08 pm #240081I’m thinking of going, but never heard of the show before I got on this forum 2 weeks ago. Looks like a 100 mile drive.
What’s this about a waiting list for “badges?”
I need stinkin’ badges?
November 23, 2009 at 10:58 pm #240082The badges ran out around August 2009. It took several years to sell out and recover the expense. Bill Collins can reorder, but needs at least 20 or more firm orders and deposits. Check the posting under ‘General Discussion’. You may want to private message Bill, he may have a running list.
November 23, 2009 at 11:05 pm #240083The badge is a TD Replica club grill badge.
Go to the Photo Gallery, BillCollins folder to see pictures of the badges.
Bill ordered them a few years ago on his own dime. It took three years to sell out the first batch.
He is taking orders. But this time, he wants enough pre-orders (about 20) before he has them made.
And yes yes yes, come to Carlisle!

November 24, 2009 at 9:17 pm #240089Ha! I am so stooopeeed, y’all. I thought Richard was saying he wanted a badge for the Carlisle meet, like as in you need a badge to get in.
Just got me first shipment from Moss Motors today–center caps for the hubcaps and new fender mirrors. Next: torsion beam. Definitely maybe want to get that all done before driving 100 miles to Carlisle.
November 25, 2009 at 8:05 pm #240090I’m thinking of bringing “Audrey” (my TD) to the show this year. Not sure if the wife and I are ready for a 500 mile trip in her, we normally dont take her on the highway. Can’t imagin 8 hrs at 60-70 miles an hr in her. I may have to look into a trailer. Does the club set up together? Has anyone ever been over there before? So far we have only went to 1 day events close to home. Any one know what all is there, ie; activities, races, or ??? Thanks Montie
November 25, 2009 at 9:59 pm #240091All the details can be found on Carlisle Productions web site.
http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/ce/events/import/I attend every year, some years with my MG, some with one of my Volvos (I am in the Volvo Club of America also). I’m also out at the Chrysler weekend at Carlisle with my 65 Plymouth Satellite convertible and an even bigger club.
Years ago the New Jersey Replicar Club would attend with a large group, surpassing 25 cars and 50 people some years.
Since our club disbanded, I have been hanging with the folks from the Speedster Owners Group (another on-line forum).
Even tho my car is not a Speedster, it is a VW at heart (and under the fiberglass). Plus the NJRC hosted the Speedster folks the first couple years they came. Now they host a couple of us non-Speedster guys.
Don’t be afraid of a 500 mile drive. My little TD has made the round trip from NJ to Cincinnati and from NJ to Indianapolis.
You’ll be glad you attended.

November 25, 2009 at 10:16 pm #240092James ” day jus all wishen dat dy was SOUTHERN “ ya’ll have a great Thanksgiving
DanR PS. Paul some day I would like to take that trip it would be great to meet some of the people i have met on line.November 25, 2009 at 10:54 pm #240093Montie, you asked some other questions that I failed to answer. Sorry.
Since tdreplica.com went live, the most we have had at Carlisle are two.
Schu and I did park together, but mostly because we both know the people the Speedster Owner Group.
If we were to have a bunch of TDs there in 2010, I would suggest we meet at the Speedster group location and park together at the end of their row.
This is easier to explain when you see the layout of the show field. But it would work out well!
re the activities, most are covered on the web site. There is a very large flea market, there will be a large kit car manufacturer area. Lots of food choices.

December 2, 2009 at 11:00 am #240094I took mine there about 10 years ago in search of replacement tail lamp lens’. I actually found some that fit and of much better quality. I didn’t stay, but they held an autocross event that I wanted to enter, but was only there for a shopping trip. Hope to be there again next year for some more ideas.
