The windshield wipers on my MG are anemic at best. It’s like the driver’s side wiper is from the nursing home and the passenger side wiper is not only from the nursing home, but stops to rest everywhere along the way.
I was thinking that I’ll have to upgrade the motor to address the slow speed, but the passenger side wiper probably has additional mechanical issues to address.
I was wondering if this is a common ailment and if anyone else experienced this issue and/or has any recommendations.

September 13, 2013 at 3:24 am #257678We addressed that issue at Carlisle last year when the ride home threatened rain. The wiper motors are inadequate at best. Make sure the two speed motor is wired correctly, meaning make sure you have both speeds, and run on High. Rain X is also a plus.

"Drive Happy"September 13, 2013 at 7:09 am #257679I’m guessing that the wipers may not be wired correctly since I’m only getting 1 speed.
I looked for a related message thread, but didn’t see any. Any info on what the correct wiring should be?

September 13, 2013 at 7:56 am #257681A new VW wiper motor costs $80 at Mid America Motorworks. Not a bad price.
They also cover Corvette parts. If VW, there is also a good site that covers the wipers in full. Here’s the link:newkitman2013-09-13 08:22:33
