Sunday, November 13th is the date for the Florida vw Bug Jam in Dade City Florida. Usually 450 – 500 VWs of all types including replicars. Wondering if any of our TD owners will be attending? I’ll be there to hoping score some parts. Hopefully some of our members will be there. The info for the Bug Jam can be found at http://www.pascobugjam.com
If you’re going, let me know and we can hook up and get to know our TDs better.

I just found out I may have to cover a project for work over that same weekend.
Right now it looks like I will not be able to attend. Very sorry.
Have a great time and take pics.
October 28, 2011 at 10:24 am #246954Green with ENVY!
Car shows are not exactly scheduled in the northeast this time of year.
In fact, they are predicting 6 to 10 inches of snow where I live in the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania this weekend!

You do have chains, don’t you? I used them on my 71 Super Beetle. It was the fastest car in Westchester County when it snowed.
November 1, 2011 at 8:57 am #246957Chains…here in Georgia? Shoot…they forecast a snow flurry down here and they shut down the state. You probably have more snow removal gear in your town than they have in the whole state here.

Always a great to see and talk with club members. And I scored parts including an engine and 3 Solex carbs. I’m happy!

November 15, 2011 at 1:06 pm #246964Allen would that work on a chevy 1.6 motor.

November 15, 2011 at 4:23 pm #246966okay…here are three pics from the Bug Jam. The rest of the photos will get uploaded to my photo site later this evening.
Fraiser Nash Kit Car with a stock 1600 engine. Owner says he cruises at 60 MPH no problem.
MGTD with stock 1600 VW motor. Owner not available to chat with BUT his entry form listed FL as his home. TD looks red but is more a chocolate brown and the kit is a MiGi II according to the grill medalion.

Both bumpers and overriders were not chrome. They were painted a flat (as opposed to glossy) silver.

November 16, 2011 at 7:07 am #246970That’d make a good calendar pic but does the TD belong to anyone in the club? Anyone from the FL area recognize it and/or know the owner?

"If one thing matters, everything matters" - from the book The ShackNovember 16, 2011 at 10:49 am #246972Love that Bernie fan kit. But somebody help me out here…where oh where do they hide the generator or alternator?
I vote for only forum member cars on the calendar. And while the one pictured is a great color and the exposure is nice, it’s really not a great “calendar shot” with the cluttered background, the man behind the car….

November 16, 2011 at 11:30 am #246973paul,
The alternator is right behind the fan inside the fan shroud. Just like a standard big only with the fan and alternator reversed. Cools the alternator as well I guess.
And I agree that the cars in the calendar should be forum members.Allen Caron
