Folks, it’s time to register for the Carlisle Import/Performance Show! The annual 20 percent showfield discount runs through the end of the year. $36 instead of $45. Please choose Speedster Owners Club at the drop down.

We have a block of rooms reserved at The Courtyard by Marriott Harrisburg West/Mechanicsburg once again. The rate is $145 per night starting 5/08 through 5/11. I’ll post more details on that once I hear back from their sales rep, Greta.

If anyone has ideas for activities, improvements, etc. with the show this year I’m all ears. A few of us hooked up with the dune buggy guys last year for their pot luck and that was pretty cool. They run a few things on the show field too, a valve cover race being the most interesting to me.

I will map out a scenic drive that will end on the show field, and maybe one from the show field back to the hotel as well. Hoping for good weather.

I plan on being there although I’ll probably tow up and place the car in the Race Car pavilion.

With any luck I’ll be able to tow it home.

Regrettably, I’ll be MIA in 2024. My youngest step-daughter is getting married May 10.

It really depends on a Motorcycle trip I’m doing with my brother, nephew and son from southern VA up through PA on the Mid-Atlantic BDR ( check it out for you M/C adventure types ). My nephew is coming in from Down Under so it depends on his timing. I will know more towards the Spring. I hope it works out for both.

    Bumping this thread for awareness.

I’m planning out this year’s Carlisle outing, Thursday May 9- Sunday morning May 12. Hotel HQ is again the Courtyard Marriott in Camp Hill; the room deal is at this link. (https://www.marriott.com/event-reservations/reservation-link.mi?id=1702482498713&key=GRP&app=resvlink)

Pretty sure the Saturday dinner will be at Snapper’s again, similar deal to last year. I’m waiting on them to get back to me with details.

So far we just have Al and Rose, plus Bill and me from the TD group. Dale’s a maybe?

I hope to see everyone. I’m planning on sunshine this year just to mix things up.

I’ll call Bill Hass and see if they’re up for the run from Pittsburgh. And Greg and Sharon Strain as well.

    Who am I forgetting?

Looks like I am in – my MC trip was moved to June and I just took the two days off for Carlisle. I still need to sign up for lodging and show field. Hopefully more people will show up this year.

    Plans:

Arrivals begin Thursday via caravans & etc.

Thursday night dinner is with the Dune buggy guys at the field.

Friday 10am step off for a covered bridge tour, which goes to lunch at Grandpa’s Love Shack at about 1. From there you can head to the show field, back to hotel or elsewhere.*

Friday dinner is the venerable Restaurant Scramble. Or we can all descend on Pizza Grill again because we’re not that big and unwieldy a group.

Post dinner will be bench racing, cigars, secreted cocktails & etc. in and around our hospitality room. There is also a possibility of Sprint Car racing for those who partake.

Saturday is showfield day. Dinner is 6 pm at Snappers (see menu above).

After dinner there’s dessert in the hospitality room, and the lamented raffle along with more enjoyable car talk and pie and snax. Do not flaunt your alcohol.

    * Possibilities to include: ACAA MuseumAutobahn Indoor SpeedwayMacris Chocolates, the Rolls Royce Museum, etc.
