How are you regitering, Some of you are way ahead of me in this, I have shown my Ford but this is a whole new ballgame. There are two ways to register

Register for the Standard of Excellence Judging for the 2010 Import-Kit/Replicar Nationals. Cars that are selected to participate in the Standard of Excellence will be evaluated by a team of skilled judges against a set standard. Standard of Excellence classes include: Import ? Restored, Import Original/Un-restored, and Kit/Replica/Specialty Car. Includes weekend admission for two people.  This is $50.00

Register for the 2010 Carlisle Import-Kit/Replicar Nationals NON-JUDGED showfield. Park with your friends or club and still be a part of the showfield. Registration includes weekend admission for two people. After registering, a receipt will be emailed to you – please bring this receipt to the event. This is $20.00

I was going to register for the nonjudged showfield. But if yau are all going for some brass, I’ll throw mine in the hat and put the time in needed to compete, It’ll take some work and time but I love friendly competition. Seriously Iwill do whatever your advice is. And knowing that last year there were only a few of us there, Would anyone like to go for dinner on Saturday night. There are several good restaurants right around the area. McKays, El Rodeo or Johns Hideaway or if you all have thoughts. I’ld be happy to organize this.  I should be coming out of Vermont on Thursday and would certainly look into using on of my larger trailers if those in new hamphire wanted to link up. or even caravan. My schedule is fairly open and adjustable. Not sure if my wife will be attending she seems to be alot busier and we have a son who may need us both the next weekend. I’ll be ther at Carlisle look forward to meeting you all.

    Let me know thoughts.

    Richard:

I am trying to convince the wife we should attend (we are moving south next summer) before we move.  Since my car is in Florida we will just go to shop and admire the cars.  If it comes to pass count us in for dinner.

In over 15 years of attending, I have always registered for the show field only.

I’m likely for the show field. Dinner? Why the hell not! Hard to plan when the car is not even registered yet but I’m a definite probably, and Karen is (so far) very enthusiastic. Tally ho!

    Ok guys

After missing last year I will be going again and hope to

have a good time. I will be staying w/ the Speedster

group again as I am restoring one in my garage, but

don’t think it will be done in time for the show, so

    should be w/ my TD.

Anyone else coming? How about we hook up for a drive

through the PA countryside? Let me know if you need a

place to stay – we can all stay at the same place. Will be

lots of good people at the hotel.

Ed – it looks like you live in Maryland? Where are you

located? Maybe we can get together this Spring – I live in

    Stafford VA.

    Hey Dale,

I’m in Joppa, MD, in Harford County, about 20 miles north of Baltimore.

Bridget just got her new plates & all I really have to do is get the brake lights fixed, so I’m a go. We should definitely look at making a convoy up to Carlisle. I’ll check routes with you as the time draws near.

On staying, I wasn’t even looking at staying over, but am willing to be persuaded.

    Guys:

Just made my hotel reservations for 5/20-22 which gives me all day Friday and Sat. morning to play there.  I had to pull some strings to get a room they are in short supply.

Look forward to seeing some MGTD’s there.  Inorder to get the wife there she will need to visit some outlets for shopping.  Money well spent.

    OK Guys,

You are running out of time for a place to stay in Carlisle

    if you want to go.

Paul and I will be staying at the same hotel as the

speedster guys and there are still a few rooms there if

you hurry. We have got to know those guys over the

years ( I am building a speedster as well ) and go on the

tours w/ them w/ our TD’s although sometimes at the

rear of the pack. They are good guys to hang with – after

all underneath the skin the cars are the same if you have

    a VW based car.

Anyway check them out at Speedsterowners.com and go

to the forum and then to events to see the Carlisle

    details.

I think we should be able to set up our own cruise during

the day on Saturday just for TD’s.

I will be coming in on Thursday afternoon and leaving

    Sunday morning.

Let me know what you think,

    Dale

OK, convinced me. i just booked at Hotel Carlisle for Saturday night. Looks like the speedster guys are going for the banquet dinner that night at the hotel. Looks decent at $25. Karen and I wanna eat with you-all though, if you’re not going to be with them.

When I booked she gave me three room choices. If that’s all that are left than better get on it.

Like Dale, I made dinner reservations with the speedster club.

Now I gotta get the brakes done on my Duchess. I started having trouble at the end of last summer. But put ‘er away for the winter without tending to the problems. Spring is around the corner…back to work!

    OK Guys,

IT looks like we have 2 or 3 more coming then the last couple of years – good deal.

If you want to join Paul and myself in the dinners and other functions please RSVP w/ Bruce ( info can be found on the speedster site above ) as they might run out of space ( sometimes as many as 60 -70 speedster guys ). I am sure we can sit w/ each other if that is desired, but most of the guys will welcome you ( they are the same under the skin if your car is VW based ).

Please sign up at Carlisle prior to April 19 under the ” Speedster Owners ” as this will provide everyone w/ a covered shelter provided by the Carlisle staff. If you sign up early you will receive a window sticker in the mail that allows you to dive through the gate and pick up your goodie bag inside and avoid the long line to sign up. I also saves you money – I think it is 20.00 for the weekend for the field for early sign up.

We should be able to figure out a TD only cruise on Friday or Saturday during the day without missing the other scheduled events ( see the other site for those events and RSVP if you want to take part ) – we will see if someone that lives up that way can provide us w/ a nice cruise directions.

So…  who’s coming and for how many days?

    Dale

    Mel,

Look me up when you are there – you will see all the speedsters w/ the TD

guys next to them – bringing your car? I was hoping for a TD only run

through the countryside sometime during the day.

My car is in Florida so I will be without her.  But I will stop by and visit with you.

    Guys,

An unexpected family commitment has come up that weekend.  I will have to pass on the show.

Have a great time and host a adult beverage for me.

    Mel

PS  only 69 days left and then I escape to Florida
