Turbo!!!  Another Duchess.  Looks like a great car with lots of extras.  I really don’t like the spot-light, but that’s just me.  Looks like the windshield could be converted to a fold-down without much trouble.  Real British knock off wire wheels.  Interesting and different side curtains.  What does  “independent suspension car” mean??

Guessing it means “Mustang II steering.”

    Nice looking car.

    Good looking Duchess.

Converting to a fold down windshield would not be as easy as you might think. This car has the false covers over the windshield frame. But under them, the frame sides come straight down. And the cowl has a lip that comes straight out, then down at about a 90 degree angle. At least one member here has done it…but the conversion involves cutting the fiberglass on the cowl, adding new mat and shaping to follow the curve of the fold down brackets.

Not worth it to me. But this is definitely a buy it and drive it car!

I don’t see any turbo in the pictures. The exhaust is on the left and th intake is on the right. I don’t see any tube leading into the intake from a turbo, and I don’t see a turbo on the exhaust line, although it might theoretically be lower than what the photo shows. If I was selling a turbo, I’d have a real clear photo of it, which is missing here.

All the 2300 Turbos I’ve ever seen were injected. I dont recognize what that gizmo is under the carb, though.

I assumed that the “gizmo” under the carb was part of  the turbo. Probably not a good assumption.

    I stand corrected…1979-1982 carb. Turbos.

IF INTERESTED, CALL DON AT 716-697-3096.

Selling an Airesearch turbocharger for the carbureted 2.3 liter 4-cylinder Ford Mustang engine. This was a rare option for the 4-cylinder equipped engines spanning years 1979 to 1982, which included a few of the 1979 Indianapolis 500 Official Mustang Pace Cars. Stock horsepower was raised from 85 HP to 146 HP.

Turbo spins freely, bearings have been cleaned, checked and are in fantastic condition. No burned bearings. Compressor and turbine impeller blades are also in excellent condition and never rubbed the housings. Spring-loaded intake mechanical carbon seal and turbine ring seal are in excellent shape. Turbo comes complete with the compressor scroll housing, turbine housing, o-rings, special factory aluminum intake manifold that will accept the Holley 5200 2-BBL carburetor, oil line fittings and the wastegate w/actuator. The exhaust manifold is the same as that of the non-turbo engine, but is not included.

I can deliver if located within a few miles of zip code 14086. Contact me for more arrangements.

85 to 146 hp increase just by adding turbocharging.  Wow.  That’s a 73% increase.
