Hello, this is the Martin Luther Lutheran High School
Environmental Science class, in southern Minnesota. We are building a MG TD VW
kit car as a class project. We are also building an ethanol still that we will
use to fuel the car. We plan on running the car on E80 alcohol/gas mix. Yes we
know we will need to make engine modifications, that is part of the project.
Our kit is a partially done kit that has been sitting for ???many??? years. The welding work and hole cutting on the Chassis
is essentially done . We still need to assemble the fiberglass parts, fuel
system, wiring, engine, etc. We signed up to this forum because we will need
lots of advice as we proceed with this project and run into those inevitable
problems that any custom project runs into. We hope that we can get the advice
that we will need in this forum or can get a reference to where we can get the
advice that we will need to finish this project. We will post a few pictures in
the next few days and then the questions will start flowing with the sincere
hope of getting good advice/help/answers. Thanks for your advice and patience
in advance.September 11, 2014 at 12:40 pm #261373Welcome. By all means consult the “Download Manuals” icon to the left of your screen. That should help with the basic build. With the broad VW knowledge base present here, if you’ve got a question, search the threads, or ask away.

Then buy the shop manual for your chassis/engine.September 11, 2014 at 2:38 pm #261376Please post pictures . I can assure you we are all interested . Maybe a field trip to Carlisle Pa. May 2015.

Enjoy the journey and may this turn into a life long passion for you all!September 12, 2014 at 6:04 am #261380It is very nice to see another generation interested in cars that can be repaired without computer connections.
Another site that is very useful for Volkswagen issues is thesamba.com.
Best wishes and do encourage your best video/photographer to keep a careful record of your progress, who knows you might resurrect the industry.
eds nova 2 posts up refers to this as unmatched fun per $ and the rest of us agree totally.
