    @duchess-vw

      Hi, I just purchased a Classic Roadster Duchess MGTD kit car and have a few questions. Is there any way to tell if the car I have is a factory built car or a kit put together by an individual? Also one of the original hubcaps (chrome wire spoke) is missing, does anyone on this site know where I might find a couple of replacements as I would also like to have one to put on the spare? If anyone has replaced their hubcaps and have any of their original ones lying around I would be willing to buy them at at fair price.

    Hi,

    I have a set of five wire a wheel covers from my Duchess. Send me a private message with your email address, and I’ll send you photos.  It’s likely the factory did not supply the exact same wire wheel covers through-out the production run. Plus, my set was on my car for many years, so they are not “new”.

    If you have Classic Roadsters serial number for the kit, the company may be able to to tell you if it was factory-built or sold as a kit.

    CR’s web site is http://www.classicroadsters.com/ They no longer produce the Duchess and the company changed hands seveal times. But they may have their old records.
