As many know, CMC purchased Fiberfab when Fiberfab decided to stop TDr production. I am an owner of one of those kits and there is more differences than just the kit parts. When checking the Fiberfab manual and comparing it against CMC’s manual, I found the Fiberfab manual is less confusing to use. Just one instance is the windshield installation. Fiberfab tells you to tilt the top windshield frame rearward and measure the distance to 59 inches. Once everything is set they say to tighten the bottom windshield frame bolts. CMC does not. They give the location for the top bolt hole (“approximlately” 2 3/4 inches from bottom of the frame)and never tell you to drill and install the bottom bolts. The CMC manual has definitely slowed me down in my build because I have to read everything four or five times and then try to correctly interpret their instructions. And with the body being Fiberfab and the rear fenders being CMC, getting the fenders to line up correctly was a pain in the rear. Sorry for the length and rant but just wanted to pass along this info in case anyone else is building a CMC/Fiberfab kit. Download BOTH assembly manuals and use the Fiberfab manual to make things clear and easier. 😕
