    @newkitman

    In my convertible top kit I discovered I’m missing the two straps that run from the front to the rear bows. Two questions. Are the straps necessary? If so, what are their length? MG Magic does not sell these so if I have to fabricate them (easy enough to do), if I know their length I can make some.

    Oh! Bones (my doc) gave me the go ahead to continue working on my car. No major lifting at the moment but I can finally get started on the TD again.  Smile

    Okay. I need them. I’ll have to get the overall length and fabricate two.

    Thanks

    The ones on mine are adjustable. I’d be looking at camping gear and boat stuff for the requisite material and slide-stays.

    My top must be built a bit differently.  I have no straps, but the bows are enclosed in pockets that are about 2′ long.  In other words, the top itself acts as the strap holding the bows in place.

    My early FF has the straps, and the top is totally removable, just like the side curtains.  I have a zip-on cover for the two top bows when the top is removed and the bows are folded down…
    X2 on looking for boating or camping cinch straps.  They need to be adjustable, and I’m guessing at least 36″ long to loop around both bow tubes.
