December 2, 2014 at 4:34 pm #235486Every day, Hemming’s blog includes an historic “car spotting” photo, and usually a link to the same scene today.Today’s picture is the Disneyland parking lot in the very early 1960s.So why am I posting it here?Because I just think it’s cool that in the midst of all that 1950s and 1960s American heavy metal, there are a smattering of Beetles….and more important to us, a solitary red MG TD (maybe a TF).For a larger view, click here, then click the photo, then doubleclick on the photo in the viewer.

December 2, 2014 at 4:41 pm #262328Maybe a Morgan? The top corners of the windshield, to me, look to be rounded. ??
December 2, 2014 at 6:08 pm #262329look to your upper right from center a red MG TD?
December 2, 2014 at 6:32 pm #262330I see two TDs and possible another. All three are red. Cool photo. Thanks for sharing.

"Drive Happy"December 2, 2014 at 6:52 pm #262332I see two, possibly three. Too bad we never see that many around town anymore! Where I live there is my TDr and a Gazelle kit at a used car lot. Awesome photo!
December 2, 2014 at 9:38 pm #262333I think the one in front of the Ranchero is a Morgan or an early Triumph. The spare tire is leaned-over too much for it to be a TD.
December 2, 2014 at 11:54 pm #262334You gotta be really looking to see those things!!!!

December 13, 2014 at 8:24 pm #262335Thanks for sharing that. I had a VW bug as my first car, living just an hour away from Disneyland. I fell in love with the MG TC and TD models as a kid in the 60’s and now have two TD replicas. This photo of one of my favorite places shares memories and brings a smile to my face.
December 15, 2014 at 10:33 am #262336Hey Mark! Between 71 and 81 I used to live in Anaheim, maybe 10 minutes from Disneyland. Were you living in Orange County? That photo also brought a lot of memories and smiles to me.
