Just finished my wheel and exhaust project. The wheels were sandblasted and painted the correct MG wheel silver that Paul Mossberg recommended from Eastwood. I used chrome smoothies for the caps with MG medallions from Moss motors. I really like the look. I must have done something right because my wife gave it the two thumbs up. On the exhaust I went with  EMPI 3847 single outlet. The pipe exits in the correct TD position. I believe Ed was the 1st to use the single outlet, if so thanks Ed for being the pioneer here. The exhaust tone is low and mellow and very un VW sounding. It replaced a four outlet GT style that even though I am the one that put it on the car, I never really liked the look. The pipe is a little long and I would like to cut three or four inches off, but am afraid the chrome may start flaking if I do. Has anyone trimmed theirs with good results? All in all  with a little effort and not too much money I am very pleased with the changes .

Day was very cloudy, not the best photo taking day.

Mike, that looks great. Good job.

FYI, I was definitely not the first to go with the 3487 exhaust on this site. I learned of it here.

And mine is a bit proud of the bumper too; just took a little punishment from a very high curbstone. It’s also scraped on the way out the driveway more than once.

Scraped up a bit but no flaking so far. If I were you I’d go ahead and cut it. If you run into flaking later you can always add a clamshell tip or something.;)
