Hi Guys,
Number one peeve for the good lady is the fact that the passenger footwell is so small and tends to tilt the feet backwards. I have toyed with the idea of removing the end of the footwell as it stands right now just to see! As far as I could tell there was nothing behind the panel and this proved to be the case. I made three cuts to it with a cutting disc on my 4″ angle grinder. Once the panel was removed this exposed a huge void, just an empty compartment. I intend to fold up an alloy box shaped panel to fit into the void and give the area some structural rigidity. I may even glass over it too, but that’s yet to be seen.
I will try to post the pictures as I complete the task. Some of you may remember that I only had the cast taken off my broken hand a few days ago and todays workout did a bit of a number on it, so I may have to rest it before I complete the rest of the work.

It is a pain to get into it. Have to open passengers door and be outside the car to see what is inside. Good space for little used items like a pair of coveralls, jack and spare tools and parts.

July 24, 2015 at 11:23 am #265248Hi Paul,
I think you have mentioned your gas tank placement in the past. I am; for now anyway happy with the gas tank size. The leg room was becoming more of an issue with the other half. These are the during construction pictures. Very simple task of cutting the fibreglass section, the most effort will be in the folding of the new box to make it into a footwell again. I will also have to reroute a few ground wires.
Its all good fun anyway.

July 28, 2015 at 11:27 am #265249Hi Guys
Well the new footwell is a resounding success in that the passenger now has some room for his or her feet. The sheet aluminum box was fairly easy to fold up even without a box and pan folder. I merely used two pieces of 4×2 as the folder. The box you have to make is 10″ from top to bottom with 12″ square sides. The box must narrow to 10″ at the bottom to accommodate the body structure shape on the right hand side. That sounds more complicated than it actually is. The only other work I had to do was to move a ground connection that I found behind the panel that I cut out.

July 28, 2015 at 8:10 pm #265256I’ve got that error before. When I got it, what worked was to go back to the picture select part of the process, find the photo in my big pile of photos already uploaded here, and select it again. That has worked for me every time.
Still not sure the source of the error tho.July 28, 2015 at 8:21 pm #265257Hi Ed. Thanks for the heads up. I will try to do that later.
