Does anyone have a MGTD fiberfab top (Tan preferably, or black) for sale?
Thanks!
November 18, 2018 at 1:03 pm #305693I used tumacs boat covers to make mine. they are in Pittsburgh,pa they have a website http://www.tumacscovers.com. they used the old top as a pattern much cheaper than mgmagic
November 18, 2018 at 11:19 pm #305694I agree with Crash55 about going to a marine cover maker. My car is in Port Clinton, Ohio (Lake Erie) and the number of businesses is very huge. I’m having a top done next week and they have good ideas on making it more convenient than the original. The boat people are constantly making tops for an extreme variety of marine craft and have a selection of materials and colors to make your head spin! They can also easily make the bows and supply all the hardware. My quote is 1/3 less than MGMagic. I will say that I’ve got a lot of things from MGMagic and have been very satisfied. I also have a FF MG and I’m so thankful they are geared to my model.

November 19, 2018 at 3:38 am #305698Back when mine was a daily driver, I had quarter windows put into my original top. This made it a lot easier to see to back up, change lanes, etc. If you’re going custom, it’s something to consider.

"Drive Happy"November 20, 2018 at 11:17 am #305700Hi Crash55,
Would they still have your top pattern at Tumacs for the cover , I wonder? I may well try them.
Thanks for all the input here, most appreciated!
November 21, 2018 at 1:16 am #305701One thing to consider is the snap placement on your vehicle. A custom made top may or may not be a good fit, even if it’s the same kit manufacturer. It may depend on the type of frame you both have for example – two bows or three and where they’re mounted. Even the MG Magic kit requires you to install the snaps on the top, because of where the individual builder installed them on the body. The side curtains even have different layouts available. If you order a top from a marine installer or MGMAGIC, you’ll have to install all the snaps. MGMAGIC has a good video about installation.
