Front Bumper Inner Support

Was test fitting the front bumper inner supports. These are the supports that mount to the lower torsion tube of the front beam and are secured by a large “U” bolt. The instructions say to have the slots on each bracket facing outward. Well after swapping sides and flipping the brackets over I FINALLY noticed that they are the same bracket. The kit lists one part number for the left bracket (44-0470-00)and another for the right bracket (44-0480-00). I have two left brackets. Anyway I would have never gotten the front bumper to mount correctly. I guess a call to MG Magic is in order tomorrow.newkitman2013-09-17 20:07:21

Have an email to MG Magic and it appears that they do not carry the inner supports. Just the front bumper mount brackets which run $56.00 each. So it appears I’ll be doing some cutting and welding tonight. One of these days I’ll have to load the photos. My camera is getting full. Maybe tonight after dark. I don’t think they carry them — only the S-shaped bracket that goes between the bumper and the splash pan.  That’s what they told me a few months ago, at least…

After several back and forth emails MG Magic doesn’t carry the inner support bracket. However…the did send me the engineering drawing for the Z bar bracket used on the CMC kits. As for my bracket, I ended up just cutting off the slotted tab piece off one of the brackets and re-welded it in the correct position. Paint drying tonight and I’ll install them tomorrow.
