PMOSSBERG 2014-04-18 18:27:52 April 18, 2014 at 6:29 pm #260216I did an “OMG” when I saw the ad and the $100 price.
Then I clicked the picture links and saw why it’s so cheap. Lots of work to make that one good again!

On a Duchess, a half moon is cut out of the lower side panel on the grill. But front is left intact.

April 20, 2014 at 7:36 pm #260222I did not do the cutting myself – restored what I got but a good bit was cut off
April 20, 2014 at 8:36 pm #260223The Fiberfab MiGi manual in the download section has a template for cutting the grille shell. The other Fiberfab manual does not. I actually had to trim mine just a little to clear the steering box and let the grille shell fit where it was supposed to. I think it was just a little over 1/16 inch. Not very much.

"If one thing matters, everything matters" - from the book The ShackApril 20, 2014 at 10:54 pm #260224I am suspicious that my grill shell was installed a bit too low because the front edge of the hood stands about 1/4 inch proud of the grill. What’s involved in correcting that?
Kall2014-04-20 22:54:31April 21, 2014 at 8:30 am #260225I bought an old OEM shell off eBay and trimmed it to fit my early FF, per the instructions in the build manual in the download section (and Ed’s pics/suggestions). Only a small rib remains below where the splashpan fits, just to cover the “frame” of the grille. The area below the grille opening, where the hole for the manual crank, was also trimmed so it would fit the flat lower portion. The OEM shell was designed to wrap around and under the radiator, and it had to be trimmed to fit the flat area below the FF grille opening.
