    @newkitman

    I’ve been noticing a lot of articles about the H4 healights in VW magazines. They are supossedly considerably brighter than our stock headlights. I’m not planning on doing a lot of night driving but seeing at night is a good thing and it sounds as if these H4 headlights would improve our night driving visibility. I know EMPI makes the H4 headlights for the 12V Beetles but has anyone seen or does anyone know if someone makes them for our size headlights? Also, wattage considerations are not a problem. Does anyone know of any other concerns that would applu to our TDs? Thanks for your input.

    Your MG should use the standard 7″ hi/low sealed beam.

    The Empi H4 Headlight Conversions are 7″ “shells” that fit the same space as the old sealed beam.

    Everything I’ve read says you just install ’em in place of your sealed beams.

    Not sure if that is accurate.

    If your pockets are really deep, opt for the 7″ LED headlamps.

    List Price is over $400 each.
    You should be able to find them for less than $300.

    On those few occasions when I find myself out after dark I’m happy to have any headlights at all. When they work, mine seem to work fine.

    When I installed the headlight relays in my car I replaced the 6014s with H6024s.

    After the relay install I compared brightness between the two by only installing one of each and the H6024s were much better.

    I think just the relay install will make a lot of improvement in most cars.

    The  stock 6014 is 60/50 watts high/low beam.
    The H6024 halogen is 65/35 watts high/low beam
