There has been some discussion of hardtops. Ignoring style issues, has anyone inquired about this hardtop? (Scroll down the page to see). Made for a dune buggy body, it might at least be in the right size range. In my dreams I’m seeing it with gullwing doors as an option.

I do have my doubts though as to whether the stock roof would fit a TDr.
From the photos, it looks like their windshield is taller than a TDr and so to get it to rest on the windshield there would be a large gap at the rear.
Also, it looks to be a bit longer and wider than our cars.
It might require modifications.
$575 is not Fort Knox, so you could try it if the measurements are correct.
You could ask for measurements to determine the fit.Amor Conquista Todo

June 17, 2016 at 10:55 pm #268365Thanks Steve, for researching the fit issue.
It looks like it is 3″ too wide and 14″ too long for my FiberFab. I suppose that it could be a starting point but $600 plus shipping would be an expensive guinea pig.
I was inspired by the various Jeep aftermarket hardtops with lift out roof panels and easy on doors. Sadly, there are just not enough of us to entice a company to make such a product.
Still dreaming.:DJune 18, 2016 at 9:41 am #268366Since I’ve been thinking about hard tops myself, I was happy to make inquiries.
There have been some very nice tops in the past. Too bad there aren’t any around, now.
I’m thinking of ways to make one myself. Still on the drawing board…
Maybe a winter project.Amor Conquista Todo
June 18, 2016 at 2:35 pm #268367In the hope of stimulating (and perhaps complicating) your design process, it seems to me that a really great aftermarket hardtop for a roadster without rollup windows should deal with the window problem. Otherwise, you will still have to hassle with side curtains. That’s why I was thinking about some kind integrated foldup, liftup, swingup doors as part of the package. Unfortunately, designing such a thing is miles beyond my skillset and tooling.
