As most of you know  i am missing my bottom tin that keeps the muffler heat away from the engine. The car runds great in cooler weather. The problem 85 90 degree. The bottom tin is hard to find. Today i found heat shields on the internet. Some are chrome ,some are stainless steel, some are wraps  Will these work

I’d consider those things in the realm of accessory cooling. They probably won’t hurt, but best if you get or make the tins you need.

Have you been to the Samba web site? Lots of people selling old tins there. I’d be surprised if the part you need didn’t come for sale once in a while.

Also, word on chrome, stainless, etc.: black is better for heat disruption.

Check on line at ebay.com, thesamba.com classifieds and there is alwast MOFOCO, ISP West, Mid America Motorworks, CIP1, Bughaus and quite a few other places. I got mine from Randy MOFOCO in Wisconsin. Excellent parts and service and the cost is right. And now is a good time to order parts because just about all the parts houses are starting their Christmas sales.

You should also see if there is a VW club near you. Someone in the VW club is bound to know where the best deals are.
