I helped out my nephew a few years back by driving a 66 corvair convertible from new mexico to Minnesota on New Years day and trading it for a very nice ’63 corvair coupe which was my old car in the 60’s. The trip back to California in the 63 Corvair was not without some excitement, but we made it and I still have the ’63 and love it.
I would never do it again!!! Thank God for Oliver Swift, A corvair club member, for helping us out in Tulsa Oaklahoma. We dropped a valve seat and had to pull one head and have a new seat pressed in. Oliver lent us tools and even let us use his car for a day while getting the job done. Clubs are great!
