A friend was looking at the Lafer that is currently for sale on ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150979569451&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME%3AB%3ASS%3AUS%3A1123#ht_500wt_1183He asked me “does this thing have roll up glass windows?” Sure beats me. I’ve never seen a Lafer. I went to their web site and watched a couple of Lafer videos and looked at a bunch of stills and I can’t figure out how their windows work. Maybe there were 2 different models – one with and one without since it sure doesn’t look like all that glass could roll into the abbreviated TD-like doors. I see a lot of pictures with the windows at half staff others missing altogether. How ’bout it gang?PMOSSBERG 2013-01-14 10:30:19 January 14, 2013 at 10:31 am #253856I believe the Lafer windows manually slide down into the doors.

January 14, 2013 at 10:52 am #253857Paul is correct. The windows lower manually but only part of the way into the door. They are removable as well. Look in ”Calafer’s” photo gallery ,there is a picture with a detailed description of how they work.

January 14, 2013 at 4:32 pm #253859Wow, that’s a great bunch of explanatory photos. It looks like it is a bit of a job to erect the top with the windows. I am not sure that it is any better than the canvas framed eisenglass with snaps like most of us have. Once installed, it is probably a bit more weatherproof??? It looks like if you use the handhold to close the door, the window slides down. Or maybe you can’t open the door with the window up. For just a moment, I was jealous of the Lafers.
Thanks Larry & Paul.January 14, 2013 at 5:39 pm #253860The “handle” is not a door pull to close the door. It’s only function is to release the window.
I’ve not seen a Lafer in person, but my hunch is there is enough give in the vinyl roof to allow the door to open and close with the window up. If not, you would not be able to fully close up the car from the outside. You’d always have to leave the window down a little. There’s tons of Lafer fun at the US Lafer club: http://mplafer.com/Or if you prefer the Portugese of the Lafer’s home land: http://www.mplafer.net/PMOSSBERG2013-01-14 17:42:27
