hey folks,
I’m looking for a copy of the assembly manual for my “new to me” London Roadster.
if any of you folks that may have, or know someone that has one, that I could get a copy made, I would be glad to handle the cost of getting a copy, for my car.
I bought a car, that I know absolutely nothing about, but, want to learn all I can.
this adventure will become the same as the one I went on with my v6 mgb.
thanks for any assistance.
February 1, 2015 at 11:56 am #262955Not sure if the London Roadster and Classis Roadster are the same but click on the Download manuals Tab to the left, then click Agree and tale a look at the last assembly manual…Classic Roadster. You can download it free and decide if its the same manual. Then when you get time, check out the manufacturers difference between the manuals. I need to do that too.

February 2, 2015 at 5:58 pm #262957We have been looking for a manual for years. The owner’s manual and marketing manual is the closest I have found that has any information. Wouldn’t be the same as any of the other cars because it was factory built. I have replace the clutch cable and front brakes of mine. Parts are VW and easy to buy if you know what year and make VW was used in your build.
February 2, 2015 at 7:46 pm #262958thanks,
I don’t need anything, right now, but, I know it’s coming.
I guess i’ll have to get the engine and transmission numbers to see where that takes me.
I hope the letter I sent to the owner of it, before the one I got it from, will be in touch, soon.
February 2, 2015 at 8:59 pm #262959Yup, be sure to get the transmission #’s. I made the mistake of assuming that since my engine was a ’69, so was my tranny. Wrong! Turns out my transmission is a ’71 and it takes a different throwout bearing. Set me back a week.
February 2, 2015 at 9:03 pm #262960with mine being one that was built on a tube frame, I don’t even know what any of it is, other than that it has vw running gear.
February 2, 2015 at 10:27 pm #262961London Roadsters were all factory built, so there is no “assembly manual.”
I have scans of the “General Maintenance and service manual. Anyone interested, please let me know and I will email them to you. It’ll take a while, there is one pdf per page.

February 3, 2015 at 9:16 pm #262965Being a London roadster owner myself . I have found very little imfor on them . I have contacted the Inkster Chamber , Inkster Historical Society , and the Ford Museum not much information I do have the address of where the plant was located . One other thing,I have had to replace the rear wheel bearing and seal If you or anyone needs those numbers let me know .
February 4, 2015 at 6:39 am #262966I would greatly appreciate any, and, all information I can get for this car.
thanks
February 4, 2015 at 7:30 am #262967This info is for MG wanna B and anyone else might who might b interested : London Roadster Factory was located at 25910 Michigan ave Inkster Michigan . The seal for the rear wheel bearing is 55104 , the wheel bearing is 6206 J both were made by SKF . This is my own opinion . I had a problem with overheating and causing vapor lock I solved the problem by insulating the fuel lines and I now use 20 w 50 Brad Penn oil . I also put a 4 X 12 inch vent on top of the engine comp hood .
February 4, 2015 at 5:52 pm #262968thanks for the information,
my car has no cover over the engine, and, is only covered by the wire wheel spare.
