when I tried to send a PM response to Shakey57.  Strangely enough, the PM went through and shows as sent .  ????

Roy, I’ve been getting those same errors for months when I post a new topic or reply to one, but the update happens…

EDIT:

For example, I got this message when I originally posted this reply:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error ‘80040e2f’

Cannot insert the value NULL into column ‘Forum_ID’, table ‘devinew_forum.dbo.tblEmailNotify’; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails.

Roy, that is the same error previously reported with regard to Private Messages. When the host provider upgraded their servers, it appears the messenging software was not properly installed on the new servers. The bug has been reported and they are working on it.

 

Kent, not sure what is happening when you post to the forum. I’ll pass the error message along and will post the response/resolution here.

Kent, I have received the same message as you for months, but only in circumstances that you mention.  I have learned to ignore it.  

The message that I received above is new and received when I send a PM.

Roy & Kent – I don’t know if it will matter, but what browser are you using?

 

Anyone else getting the Microsoft OLE error when they post a reply? I don’t need to se a bunch of “no” response. Please reply only if you ARE seeing the error, and what browser you use.

Don’t know if he got it really.  But my outbox shows it as sent.  

I am using Chrome 32 as a browser.

I use Chrome most of the time, but Internet Explorer 10 occasionally.

IE 10 doesn’t display the same error message (I must not have the “show detailed errors option turned on) but instead gives an HTTP 500 general error: “The website cannot display this page.”

So, it is getting the database error, it just doesn’t display the details of it…

Paul, I think the error when using PMs is with the setup of the mail server (CDONTS). I think the PMs are going through fine, BUT the server is not sending the emails to let people know that they have a PM waiting…KentT2014-01-29 14:10:21

Paul, I get the error when posting a reply also, but it still goes through.

Kent, I get that same error message EVERY time I post something. I just hit the “back” button and find my post is there.
