December 3, 2012 at 12:20 pm #252993Tex. The Mercedes Gazelle and Jaguar SS-100 both have rear seats and this one does not. My call is…MG TD kit.

It’s definitely a TD replica.A little rough. But certainly not beyond recovery. But it’s not worth $3,000 either!Paul Mossberg

December 3, 2012 at 3:58 pm #252997Saveable & I hope someone does. Interesting wheels.
December 3, 2012 at 5:36 pm #252998Aren’t those wheels the same as the ones that come with the Lafer? I think 1500 to 1800 tops is a good offer. I mean it does have the chassis, engine and transmission.

"If one thing matters, everything matters" - from the book The ShackDecember 3, 2012 at 6:27 pm #252999Left turns seem to be no trouble but rights the shame is when someone is trying to sell a car and has no idea what they have Dan
December 3, 2012 at 6:30 pm #253000I was thinking $1500,Sope,water,and wax would makie a big difference in appearence. Ed could those wheels be real wire I blew the picture up,and the spokes appear to be in the center of the rim, with the tuners at the bottom next to the rim. it dosen’t appear to have a top or frame in the pic. Does the driver front wheel seem to be turned more than the other one ? Tex2012-12-03 18:35:04
December 3, 2012 at 7:37 pm #253001Dan R: that kind of ignorance is what I’m hoping to encounter. I can picture a C-Type Jag in the back of a shed, surrounded by lawnmowers, maybe an old outboard. Rakes, shovels, old latex paint cans. Ripped tarp. The hood is half gone–cut to fit the tunnel ram on the 396 the guy put in it back in 1964. Straight axle; Dana 60 with slicks on ancient mags–gasser style all the way. Tube rollbar, single seat on the left side… but, yes, the original pedals are still on the right side floorboards. The aluminum body is otherwise all there.
Engine blown, circa 1972, it sat here since then while the son grew up. The old man died, a decade ago. Mom is now on the frail side, heading to assisted living or a nursing home. The son–he’d have been about 3 when the car was parked, not into cars, never inquired what it was–is selling the homestead. Hoping to get $5,000 for everything in the shed. Pretty sure the newer lawn tractor runs.
I offer $2,000 . . . .

Really tough to tell about those wheels. A friend of mine once said, if you are trying to hide stuff in a classified ad, post small pictures. If you have nothing to hide, make ’em as large as the sales site allows.
