Hey I just joined, I have a Fiber Fab 52 MG replica on a VW chassis and I am looking for some parts. Has anyone ever heard of or used the company MG Magic?? They seem to have alot of stuff for these cars but nobody seems to know much about them.

Reputable firm. Has a LOT of TD replica parts.

They were recently sold to a company in California.

I don’t recall any posts reporting doing business with the new owners.

July 25, 2011 at 2:28 pm #245490I’ve purchased several parts from them when they were in Florida. They have since sold and relocated the company to San Diego. A bit pricey but worth the cost. Parts are great as well. At least in my experience. I have an email to them asking about a couple of parts. Hopefully they will respond as quickly ans when they were in FL.

"If one thing matters, everything matters" - from the book The ShackJuly 25, 2011 at 3:57 pm #245491I am definitely a novice at this, how do I know what kind of car I have? I know the kit was manufactured by Fiberfab. What is the difference between a MGTD and a MIGI? I was told the car was a 52 replica MG. I am sure I will need to know this when trying to get parts. So far it’s been fun, man you really get some looks when you drive these little cars.
July 25, 2011 at 5:36 pm #245492Welcome aboard, don’t worry about being a novice . Every one here started as a novice but learned as we went along. We are glad to share our ”wealth of knowledge” with those who are just getting started or may have ran into something needing an explanation.
Our cars are replicas of the MGTD which was built from 1950 thru 1953 with very small ,almost unnoticeable differences from year to year. For some unknown ,[at least to me] reason, most are referred to as 52 TD replicas. I think the MIGI was one of the first MG replicas and the term ”MIGI” may have been an attempt to avoid legal problems with the MG name.
FiberFabs ,MIGIs,and Classic Motor Carriage cars are very much alike since the companies that produced them have been merged or bought out to eliminate competition.
VW parts are easy to find from dealers on the web and at some local parts sources too.
The body and trim parts are somewhat harder to find .Moss Motors has parts for the origina MGs ,some trim stuff will fit some replicas. MG MAGIC is a good source for kit parts. Both are expensive but that’s the way it is when you are needing scarce items.
I know what you mean when you say that these cars get looks, thats part of the fun of driving them.

Look in the Manuacturer Comparisonsubject in the My Project tab of the forum. It lists the differences of the kits and includes pictures. You can also look at the Photo Gallery at the top of the page. And if you do have a Migi, you can download the Migi manual from the Download Manuals tab on the left. Welcome aboard and enjoy your TD. Oh! Pictures. We all drool over pictures!
