Good starting point for someone to finish and personalize. At $2500, if it runs and drives as stated, it’s a bargain considering all the work done…

Upper Darby is right around the corner from where I live.  I may have to go take a look at it.

The “slats” in that grille look very similar to the ones on my Lafer TI. I’ve been thinking of painting them, to make them stand out a bit from the black mock radiator shell. Any suggestions? The car itself is black, with a black top and tan interior. Wheels are alloy, with the centers painted a coppertone gold that matches a very subtle gold pinstripe here and there, and picks up faint flecks of gold under the top four coats of clear lacquer.

The original TD painted the grille slats the same color as the interior. Here’s a link that Paul or Ed sent me a way ago.

Yes, I’m aware of that, but I’m not overly concerned with being “authentic” as the Lafer isn’t — strictly speaking — an MG-TD replica. Too many differences, large and small. It does share a style and a spirit with the TD, I think, but painting the slats to match the interior (which is very close to the color of the wheels and pin-striping) might be too much of a good thing. It might be hard to picture, but my TI has no chrome anywhere — not the bumpers, the turn signals, the windscreen, the gauge bezels. All black. When I first bought it, in 2007, I thought I’d change all that up and add some brightwork. The longer I’ve driven it, though, the more I like the way it is, at least for the most part. It’s just that the slats beg to be set off from the rest of that black front end. Right now I’m considering a light gunmetal gray. We’ll see. Thanks for the link, though. Good reading.

I posted some when I joined the club, but I don’t think the gallery is back online yet. I’ll try to post a couple from another website. Have done quite a bit to it since finding it in a barn outside Montgomery, Texas, though: new top, interior, engine, exhaust, tires, brakes, mirrors. Finish and wheels are original.

I think I’d go with matching goal BEHIND the slats…

That might look good, Kent, but my “slats” aren’t real; they’re just molded into the mock grille. They were accented with chrome pinstripe tape when I got it, but it had so many gaps that I just pulled it and sprayed it all flat black.

I bought it. Good to know it is a Migi II I was wondering who the manufacturer was.

Not sure it is a MIGI II. I look at the running board as it mates to the rear fender and it doesn’t look the same. any good links to MIGI II photos?

I stand corrected. in one of the photos of the gas tank in the listing it clearly shows a MIGI manufacturer plate. Wonder why I didn’t see that before?

I am quite certain that only Daytona and Fiberfab used the name MIGI.
