Been researching the MSO for my Fiberfab kit AND…..after several emails and a phone conversation with Dan of Fiberfab, I have a procedure whereby he will get me an embossed statemnent certifying that my kit is a real Fiberfab MGTD kit. It’ll take me a couple of days to get him what he needs and after that, for a nominal (to me) fee, I will have a valid MSO certificate to register my TD. Oooooooh! An early Christmas present to myself.

November 7, 2012 at 10:10 pm #252777Thanks guys. I’m pretty stoked.
In an earlier post about the MSO someone asked about the serial numbers. In talking with Dan, I gave him the serial number for my kit. This is how he broke it down for me. My kit serial number is FM1876. The F is for FiberFab and the M is for MGTD. Then with the numbers; the 1 means 1981 and the 876 is the 876th kit that year. The original owner purchased the kit in 84 so he figures that the kit was sitting in the warehouse for a couple years until he bought it.Allen Caron

November 8, 2012 at 9:45 am #252780My take on the 876 is that 876 is the number of all FiberFab kit models produced that year and not just the MG TDs. Its likely that number includes MG TDs, Mercedes Gazelles, Jaguar SS-100 and the other kits that FiberFab were producing. But that’s my take only…and I have been known to be way off at times.
One of the interesting things in my paperwork is that all the paperwork comes from the FiberFab factory but the shipping label shows the kit was shipped from Florida. Wonder if it was during the time FiberFab and CMC were changing hands.newkitman2012-11-08 09:49:27
