  I bought this TD Last  Year from an add on Craigs List she was owned by 3 people over the years that I know of and sat  for 14 years as the person I bought her from said she was “neglected not abused ” I had to rebuild most of the fuel,electrical and suspention. the jelcoat was real horror story , but now I have A good driverand dependable fun little ride .         &nbsp ;         &nbsp ;         &nbsp ;         &nbsp ;         &nbsp ;     Dan R.

Hi Dan,

Welcome aboard.

You wrote the gelcoat “was” a horror story. If you have to back to where you want…great! If you’re not satisfied yet, take a look at Meguiars line of boat polishes and waxes. Gelcoat is usually a thicker than paint and can stand a lot of polishing.

Hi Dan,

Nice Car! Looking at the before picture in your gallery you must have worn yourself out buffing that GelCoat! I followed Paul’s advice and bought the Meguiars 1 step for Marine and ATVs. It was still a lot of work, but the results are really good.

I do have a question and I hope you are not offended by this. Your car is a FiberFab like mine. I had been staring at the full side photo wondering why the back looked so different from mine. I figured out that the gas tank cover is mounted upside down on your car. It must be a bear putting the top up because your spare tire looks like it’s right in the way. And where the heck did they put the Gas filler cap? I’m assuming that this is a front engine model. If you look at photos of my car and James Cochrans car and compare you’ll see the difference. Anyway, it’s a great car. Enjoy the ride!

Hi Dan,

    Nice Ride. She looks alot like mine. I noticed in the side profile photo there is an MG emblem on the bottom of the windshield frame. What is it? Is it a bolt, something to hold the top down, just an emblem?

You’re correct, the gas tank cover is inverted. I kept looking at it thinking something was different. Glad you noticed, now I can sleep tonight .

Dan, great ride. She looks great. My grille MG logo is different. Mine is mounted on a chrome piece that goes under the false cap. Yours appears to be front engine, I think I can see a hose clamp. I do not have a radio / center console piece. My radio is hidden. I would tell where, but it’s a secret . Ringo’s radio is hidden nicely.

I noticed that your hood opens from the wrong side too (Just Kidding)!

I like the way mine opens so I have NO access to the oil fill cap or dip stick.  Don’t know what the builder of my car had in mind.

At least I have great access to the Battery, which requires constant attention and maintenance (sarcasm intentional) .

Reply to all ;Thanks for the tips  The before picture! I did not know it went over I tryed to see it but gave up could not find it on the post  I also don’t know why the pictures came out so large ??   Rich the gas tank will have to stay the top is a pain to put up and snap but seeing out of the back is worse i did not do the car ,but the only solution I can figure is A factury type carrier I have almost done with a relocated tag just below the filler. The MG logos at the bottom of the windshild is from MG center caps glued and screwed to a cut toe tap! the frt .MG is from a midget . I hope I answered some questions . James ,the last one ,Sevierville. so if you ever come here to see Dolly Wood drop a line there some great places to drive and things to do . DanR.

My hometown is Knoxville, Fort Sanders area, corner of Clinch and 15th, the big blue Queen Anne house. I do miss the mountains and that great old house. UT is taking over the area and tearing the old ladies down. Great cruising ground for ya. I would love to cruise Cades Cove in the MGTD. I hope to cruise the Dogwood Festival in Knoxville next spring. Maybe catch up with you then.

My pics came in huge also, when I uploaded them. What is your drive train on your replica?

James  ; Nice to have someone local YES cades cove is nice but the road to get there is a better drive, Sugerlands along the river to 321 to townson, there is a MG show there i think May 10 th this week we have a lot of over flow from the knoxville show. saturday nite drive through Pforg and Gattlinburgh a lot of nice cars .         &nbsp ;  DanR
