    Hi All,

I’m in northern Colorado and I have a MG TF 1800 Victor. This is the MG TF that has MGB mechanical components. The body is an exact replica of a 1955 MG TF, The frame was made especially for these cars. Some were sold as kits, and there are a few factory assembled cars around too. I started a “minor” renovation on mine in mid January. It is now down to a bare frame. There ended up being a lot of might-as-well things to do.

Pictures will be posted in the photo section.

    Beautiful car!

And I don’t want to split hairs Allen, but it’s a reproduction of an MG TF, it’s not a “different style TD”. Wink

Welcome Bruce!  For many years I owned a TF which proudly displayed identification on either side of the engine cowl “TF-1500”.  Were your beautiful TF mine, I would be tempted to get two small tags made up that said “TF-1800”.  Now that would cause some to scratch their heads, eh?  I see now, in pic #2, that you have a TDish dash.  I never liked those octagonal gauges.  Looks great!Royal2013-02-11 16:37:11

    Paul,

I realized that after I hit the send button. Is a nice looking TF.  How many do we have now? Three?

Roy boy. What do you think of his wires? They sure look good.

Glad to see you here, Bruce. And what a beautiful car the Victor is. Really opens up the envy vein in me. Hope you have an easy and fun refurb.

By the way, who/how did you get your hood louvered?

The previous owner replaced the fiberglass rear hinged hood with an original steel center hinged hood. It was louvered when he bought it.

Nice on the louvers, Bruce. What have you got for a front carb air cleaner?

This car came with a Weber carb. I am in the process of fitting dual SUs. A local british car shop has fitted TDs and TFs with MGB engines. They cut the plastic carb spacer blocks down so they are about half of the thickness of stock ones, then fit the”vintage style” thin air filters from Moss.

    That is my current plan.
