Has anyone found a paint that matches FiberFab’s Italian Red? I realize that trying to match paint to gelcoat is difficult, especially given fading/oxidation, but has anyone found something that comes close?
Thinking of painting my steel wheels red to match, then usiing hubcaps and trim rings, and wanted to get as close as possible on first try…
Thanks!

I went to a NAPA not long ago trying to find some paint to match. After spending a full 1/2 hour looking through all their samples, they offered to help. (To be fair, I had not asked for help.) Then they brought out a camera looking thing and set it on the hood of my car. Then took it into the store and plugged it into their computer. It spit out the color, the cars that it was used on and the model years. From there finding the matching paint was easy. Maybe this is new technology, maybe not. I was impressed, but then, I am a country boy.
Pretty much the same technology your Home Depots and such match your house paints. Back in the ’70’s we mixed paint and matched colors using a beam scale and added colors by weight. Did you know you can make Corvette White even whiter?
