    Funny…

    I believe if you ordered a kit, you received a “Duchess” emblem, chrome with blue enameled background.

    If you ordered a turnkey car, it came with the “Grand Duchess” emblem pictured above.

    Yes mine was factory built and I have the blue Duchess badge on the top of the grill.

    Well, then I guess my guess was wrong.

     
    I built my TDr from a kit and had the blue Duchess badge (until I replaced it with an MG TD badge).
     
    Not sure what made a Grand Duchess “grand.”
