I have a 52 MGDT MIGI on a 67 VW frame and the floor pan under the peddles is rusted to the point that the peddle stop does not work. thus both peddles have fallen forward. I just purchased this car and I have little knowledge about the repair

Sorry to hear about the rust.  It’s a pretty common problem with VWs and can  range from a minor fix to replacing the whole floor pan.  I’ve had 2 bugs that needed such repair. Replacement floor pans are available from many sources starting at about $100.  You can use part of the pan as a patch or replace the whole driver side.  If it’s a small area you can cut out a patch from the replacement pan and pop-rivet or screw and seal without a trip to the welders.  I’ve known of whole pans replaced with pop-rivets and epoxy sealer that worked just fine.  While you’ve got the carpet up, check the rear of the pan near the engine, an area that usually rusts as well.

ftmfalcom, I have replaced bothside of my pans in my TD on a 73 volks. I had a price in Fl for $350 a side and got it done here in N. Ga. for $450.00 both sides so prices to very and you will have to look around for a deal. I had the under side rust coated with the same thing they put in truck beds so I will never have that problem again.
