Next week my London is going to have seals replaced on push rod tubes can these be bought at most part stores if not where and how do i know which ones? Is there a part number. I think its a 1968 or 9 1600cc
Should be able to get them at NAPA, AutoZone and most auto parts places. All tubes are standard and you adjust the length per the book just before you install them.

"If one thing matters, everything matters" - from the book The ShackThere’s also adjustable replacement tubes intended for replacing just one or two — that don’t require that you pull the engine, and remove the engine tin and heads. These are intended for repairs between engine rebuilds, should you spring a leak. You still need the stock-type seals, but this makes the repair much easier…

Slowly coming back from the ashes...What is met by type 4 engine? The way i understand it some engines it is easier to replace seals in pushrod tubes than in others if this is so what type do i have in my london?
You have a Type 1 engine from a Beetle or Karmann Ghia.
Type 4 engines are the ones used in the 1972 and later VW buses, the 411/412, and the Porsche 914. They’re a totally different, much bigger engine — basically nothing interchanges with the Beetle engine, at least withoutmodification/machining. This is what one looks like:

Slowly coming back from the ashes...Just ordered quick change push rod tubes cant find instructions for installations can anybody help
The outline:
- remove the valve cover
- remove the rocker arm assembly, couple bolts, it comes out as one assembly
- remove the pushrod(s) where you need to replace the pushrod tube(s)
- remove the old tube(s) (you may have to cut ’em), insert the new tube(s)
- replace the pushrod(s)
- replace the rocker arm assembly
- check/adjust valves (they should be ok, but check ’em!)
- replace the valve cover
