How is the shifter height after it is moved back to the TD position? In the Beetle it’s okay because the seats are set high. It seems the TD seats sit lower on the floor pan and that seems like it would make the shifter a tad bit hogh. Sort of reaching up to it.

Naw. It’s beautiful. Feels like a stock one, position-wise, and would look stock too if the tunnel in front of the shifter were like 2 or three inches taller. Look at the interior of a TD and you’ll see what I mean.

If you hate it you can always cut down the shifter.

Cool beans. Thanks for that info. I was just concerned the shifter was a little tall. Glad it’s not.

Newkitman..when i bought my car already assembled someone had put an empi trigger shift in it. The shifter was the tall one , 15″ I think is the designation. I hated it and put the empi 12″ trigger shift in it. I would think the stock VW shifter would be fine.

My stock VW shifter is fine.

Right hand drops very naturally to the shift lever.

Actually a better relationship to the steering wheel than in the original Beetle.
