After two years of drought, Southeast Texas is now back to its normal climate — meaning rainy for this time of year. A couple of weeks of weather too wet to enjoy my Lafer had made me start looking at other (i.e., more practical) rides. Then today, the skies cleared, the temperature around sundown slid down into the low 80s, and I got to crank it up and take a spin. For a change, my sweetie came along, and just a 40-minute swing through the twisty bits through the tall pines out here northwest of Houston was enough to remind me of why I bought this ride in the first place.

This would have been a great evening to go for a ride. Hope the Misquitos were not to bad or at least you could out run them.

Spent the afternoon outside so have to admit we spent the evening inside suckin up the AC.

We’ve been lucky so far. You’re a bit closer to the Gulf down there. Maybe the skeeters are working their way inland.
