As I look thru the past posts I realize that you at one time were working on tee shirts I don’t know where that all went. But I was thinking…. If theres a group of us going to carlisle would we like to look into a commerative tee shirt or something. I’ld be happy to look into this, but if you have already done shirts it might be more cost effective to use your supplier. And then again we might not even want to bother. After all it $10.00 or $15.00 dollars we could spend on parts.

I think if we want to make an impression it should be something like matching tweed jackets, baggies and caps. Cheerio!

There goes deep pockets Ed! You forgot the matching pipes!

Frank had floated the idea of t-shirts. There are a lot of graphics ideas in his photo gallery.

We never ran with it tho.

In the “Our Store” tab it says coming soon…TD Replica.com T-shirts, polo shirts, and hats. Are they still in the works or are we going to drop the idea? I’d like to have a TD Replica.com hat like is pictured.

Frank had been working on shirt/hat ideas…but nothing has happened.

Take look at the dates on those posts with the shirt ideas.

You can have your ball cap and I hope you enjoy it.  Not for me, though.  I would like (and have a few of my own) to sport a driving cap, if I’m not wearing a hat with a brim, ala a fedora most times.

I’m very interested in a polo shirt with the decoration, though.  Cafe Press is a place with smaller markets and specialty items.  Maybe the designer can try going through them.

If there is interest, someone will have to take this ball and run with it.

FrankieD really doesn’t hang out here much anymore.

The site is hosted by the firm his brother Jeff works for. And Jeff handles our web site updates for us. But Frank is not involved in that.

    @edsnova

I am all-in on the doo-rag. In fact, I just requested from my wife a Union Jack-patterned doo-rag for my birthday.

Those who have met me know I am quite balding. So why?

    To NewKitman’s question, then:

Sunburn. No hair means the sun beats down on my head directly, but a clean shave up there would allow for neat application of sun screen. It’s an option, but that look is not for everyone and it requires a bit of maintenance.

Some hair–the situation atop my pate and, statistically speaking, many of yours–means the sun burns you but the sunscreen application is messy, at best, creating the dreaded “Lenny and Squiggy” effect on what little hair remains. This is not fashionable.

A good hat with a chin strap does the trick until speeds exceed 50 mph or so. After that there is lift and interference with the glasses.

    Solution: Doo-rag, baby!

Ed…I resemble the some hair remark! Actually……….I HAVE a Union Jack and American Flag doo rag I wear when I worked on my Ghia. And will use them again when working on the TD. The heat and humidity here in the middle of Georgia is wicked and the doo rag keeps the sweat out of my eyes and the gnats away from my ears.

Ed nailed it Allen! I’d be toast if I didn’t keep the head covered. And onyl a doo-rag will do!

I haven’t tried driving with the driving cap above 50 miles per hour.  As soon as I get up to speed on the freeway, I chicken out and toss the cap on the floor.  I would hate to lose the cap that way. I lost one cap that flew out the back of my London Roadster, and I can’t find an equal replacement.

I’ve found an embroidery gal on eBay that does an MG TD car image on polo shirts (pocket or no pocket), denim shirts, duffel bags, and more.  She includes one line of lettering and I had her do “London Roadster” under the embroidered car image for a denim shirt.  She’s also done shirts for me with a Honda S2000.  I’m not quite up to ordering one with an Odyssey yet.

I can contact her for some bulk orders.  Let me know if you want me to pursue this.

I would like to know from Allen the source of the Union Jack Doo Rag & from Paul the source of his miraculous wind-proof driving cap.

I have worn flat caps since the 1980s (long before I acquired the appropriate car in which to wear them) and regularly have had them blown off my head whilst walking during brisk Autumn days. A cap that would stay fast in Bridget I would pay money for. I have the correct Tweed jacket already–$10 at the Salvation Army store. And as some of you know, I am also equipped with a custom-painted silk tie to complete the look.

I found the Union Jack doo rag at a motorcycle shop down in FL. Its actually a bandanna that I tie forming a doo rag.
