Guys:
Monday Florida will be in the rearview mirror and my TD will be back in storage. She is running great and has been in two Cruise-ins. I have enjoyed the miles of driving and can’t wait to get back down to play more.
To get her running correctly, we changed:
All the filters and added a gas line filter, did a LOF service
rebuilt the carb
changed out the rag joint
added wind wings and upgraded the fog lights
added a nice UK style plate under the front bumper (thanks for the help and pictures)
Tuned it up and changed the wires, etc
cleaned up the gas (seafoam did the trick) and got the fuel guage working (needed a new sender).
Before going back to storage I am filling the tank with high test and adding Sta-Bil.
The car lived up to all my expections and then some, Best Comment came from a young driver who sped up to get next me me and yelled “That is the most beautiful car I have ever seen”

I agree with Larry.
Be sure to scrapbook all your pics for fond memories until you’re behind the wheel again.

July 5, 2009 at 8:51 am #239178Guys:
Thanks for the kind words, I drove her to the gas station at dawn this morning, the sun just started to come up. The drive in the cool morning air was so relaxing and enjoyable.
December will come but not soon enough.
I will store her later today and leave Florida at Dawn tomorrow.

July 5, 2009 at 2:59 pm #239179Mel,
I can picture the early morning ride. My favorite times are early AM and just before dark in the evening. It’s great to hear others comments. My wife still thinks I’m nuts (she could be right) because I enjoy just riding the back roads to nowwhere. Some people just don’t understand. Here’s to those who do!

July 11, 2009 at 9:13 pm #239181I’m catching up on mail and various forums, having been completely off the matrix for a week. I’m reading through the above and am not sure if we’re still talking about a car or a “significant other”.
One thing is clear…Mel sure does “luv” “her”!
