Very sketchy description of kit 25 mi south of DC. Great father/son/daughter project.September 16, 2013 at 10:38 am #257699I wouldn’t even call it a “kit”
Looks like all he/she has is the body.Paul Mossberg

September 16, 2013 at 11:01 am #257700The seller is the one who called it a “kit”. I would call it a “poor listing”. The seller has 0 feedbacks, so I gave him the benefit of doubt and assumed that, being a new seller, he did not fully describe what he is selling. I have written to the seller asking for a more complete description.
September 16, 2013 at 6:38 pm #257701He’d probably get more parting it out.

"If one thing matters, everything matters" - from the book The ShackSeptember 16, 2013 at 9:55 pm #257702Well, I’m not sure if this helps, but here is the sellers response to my request for more info, in its entirety:
“the car does not have a top with it. do not have the radiator shell or gauges. Have the seat covers, wiring kit chrome grill and wood dash board”.September 16, 2013 at 10:33 pm #257703I would pay for the wiring kit! Already have the grille.

"If one thing matters, everything matters" - from the book The ShackOctober 22, 2013 at 7:19 am #257704I’m new to the forum …… I bought the afore mentioned TD kit on ebay. I have built a chassis from and old MG
to put the body on. I have lots of unused parts to sell. Wiring harness is 1. Rear engine cover with spare tire ,hood sides ( I built steel one & had them louvered). Any of the steel pieces that come with the kit. I also have a top (Tan) that I will not need. You can give me a call 336-953-6459
Thanks,
JimOctober 22, 2013 at 7:38 am #257705Might be interested in the top – never had one – might be time?
I will give you a call.October 22, 2013 at 8:00 am #257706Dale, I have a Daytona MiGi and Happy Jack has a Fiberfab MiGi and a BCW. The other day, he was admiring my tonneau cover so I told him to test fit it on his cars. To both of our surprises, ignoring the snaps, it was too big for either of his cars.
I never knew this but apparently, my Daytona body tub is a bit (about 2″) longer than FF or BCW.So, it is trickier (windscreen height, how it attaches to the top of the windscreen and the side windows, number of bows, etc), than I thought fitting a top to these kits from a batch of TDr kit tops. I’m beginning to think that the least expensive way to get a good fit is to have a sailmaker build one for you.If the shoe fits, wear it. (but make sure)October 22, 2013 at 8:09 am #257707I’m interested in the wiring kit. I’ll give you a call later today.

"If one thing matters, everything matters" - from the book The ShackOctober 22, 2013 at 8:37 am #257708Thanks Roy – I guess I will pass till a Fiberfab top comes up somewhere – I do have my old top and bows someplace – not sure about the door glass – but it is costly around here – 500.00 I would guess to have a top made?
October 22, 2013 at 9:00 am #257709$500 is cheaper than I can get it done here on the east coast. I was looking at $700 (with windows) a year ago when I decided to “baby” my old one.
A nice fitting top definitely extends my driving season. These TDr tops are very weather tight compared to ones on original TDs. But the suicide doors make the TDrs more awkward getting in and out with the top up since they snap onto the windscreen frame. The original framed variety side windows make entry a lot easier but they leak air and rain like crazy. Some (if not all Allisons and Lafers) have framed side windows. If you have toll booths to contend with, you also need to think about being able to open the side window easily.October 22, 2013 at 10:04 am #257710Toll booths are easy….
Install a zipper, under the side window, with a flap on the outside to protect it. That’s Classic Roadster Ltd approach. I’ll show you over the weekend Roy.
You can also put your arm through there to snap the curtain to the windshield frame.Or buy one of these and you can snap it on from inside the car.Paul Mossberg

October 22, 2013 at 12:04 pm #257711Paul, thanks but my window Isinglass completely zips out from inside with the windows installed. I also have the special tool but don’t need it for tolls. …just trying to point out some things that Dale might want to think about if he is going to purchase.
December 30, 2013 at 8:41 am #257712Progress update on Mystery VA T car…….. windscreen frame is made from aluminum chanel (cost me $5) got it at a local metalworking shop. Lucky to find real TD gas-tank in British Car Club Newsletter! Getting close to paint prep!
I still have a lot of unused parts (fiberglass) & a Top (New in bag) …… give me a call.
