Well under long consideration, and being laid-off causing me to think to much,I decided to make a major modification to my vw pand and mg body. The little wings that stick out on the lower front of the body have been removed, and the pan modified to fit the body.I have also added a short firewall section, that will acomodate the master brake cylinder, and battery on the opposite side, wich is wasted space in the original design..I still need to fab some steel mounting to front area for the grill. All this modification will also give me a bit more trunk space when finished. If the picture doesn’t show,I have posted some in my album

    Scott,

That’s going to look so much more authentic when the car is done. I painted those “wings” matte black, so they sort of disappear. But that’s a far cry from your solution. Nicely done!

Thanks for the positive comment.I though long and hard about this modification.I had considered painting the area a matte black, but I felt it would still stand out.I guess being on lay-off and bored to death helped to make the choice. Also this body has sat for so long that there was a bow in that area that I could not get to lay flat.I also considered on how flimsy the overall design of these kits are,and wanted to have somthing a little stronger than the original design. As my progress slowly progresses I will post more pictures.
