I have a line on some Western Wheels. There are 5 of them, four still in the original boxes. Chrome wheels with wire wheel look baskets and knockoffs. The owner says that they are for a VW, 4 bolt. It is my understanding that Western Wheel bought Kelsey Hayes and these are really Kelsey Hayes wheel KH 06 4625. I have not been able to find out what they are on the internet. Can any of you help?
February 17, 2013 at 6:24 pm #254557Aren’t you already sportin’ real wires, Roy? Why you want baskets?
February 17, 2013 at 7:06 pm #254558Ed, I’m good. I’m very happy. Maybe one of you guys might want them. They are new very old stock.
February 17, 2013 at 7:27 pm #254559Roy, I might be interested in them if you can find out more about them. Is there a pic?
SamFebruary 17, 2013 at 7:36 pm #254560Can you post a link Thanks
February 17, 2013 at 8:29 pm #254561No pics, no link. I found these in a guy’s garage. I’m sure that he will sell them. I’m trying to figure out what they are so we can verify size, bolt pattern, setback offset etc.etc.
February 17, 2013 at 8:43 pm #254562Ah, very cool. Why not have him post a photo and specs here? Width, offset, diameter and lug spread. We’re wanting 4 x 130mm
BTW, I found reference to KH wire baskets from someone’s Fiberfab Gazelle. They were not this part number:
14 X 6 JJTB, 4 lug, Stock Number KH4287, with several centers (see pictures),
I believed they will fit a 1968 VW and up,

them, so I will offer then here first before I list on EBay.
February 24, 2013 at 4:54 am #254563This post is to close the loop. The 5 NOS KH wheels are most definitely NOT 4 x 130mm VW wheels as thought and hoped. I dug one out and brought it home, measured and took it back they were 15″ x 6. 4 bolt. Here is the meat of the email that I sent to the owner.
I believe that the Western Wheels that you have are really Kelsey-Hayes
wheels. Apparently Western bought the KH wheel company (thus the prefix on the
wheel model numbers: KH 06-4625)(But there are numbers KH 3185 and 7U5 stamped
into the metal of the wheel). They are 6" x 15" with about a 8-10mm positive
offset. They will NOT fit a Volkswagen (which requires 4 x 130mm bolt pattern).
The mounting holes are slightly elongated and therefore these wheels may
bolt up nicely to a few different 4 bolt patterns depending on the diameter of
the lug bolts. Here is my estimation of what they will or might fit based upon
bolt pattern ONLY. (These wheels may interfere with the frame/bodywork due to
incompatible wheel offset even thought the wheel bolt pattern is the same and
would bolt on.):
