My wife liked it so we bought a VW based TD kit in good and reasonable running condition. Then she left it in neutral on an incline. I have no idea who the kit manufacturer is/was or how to identify it. I need a new rear bumper, a tail light assembly and reverse lights for a start. Yes, I need an exhaust also, but I saw a topic for TD exhaust and I’ll check there. I don’t know much about the drive train either. All I know is the wheels are the smaller bolt pattern and the engine has single port heads and a generator. The local VW dealer is no help. Any place to check engine/chassis numbers and where are the numbers on the engine/chassis. Any help is appreciated. I am sure I have more questions but I don’t know what they are yet.

The VIN/Chassis number is stamped on top just in front of the access cover for the shift linkage at the back of the transmission hump in the driver’s compartment.August 8, 2014 at 9:22 am #260839And the engine number is stamped into the block just below the generator stand.
