She really looks young in this pic, anyone know the vintage of this photo?

February 24, 2015 at 9:14 pm #263351OK, so I’m not sure that’s her. If it is she was about 25-26 there.
In “Monkey Business” with Cary Grant, MM was 26 years old. They used a ’52 TD in that one (supposedly it sold at auction a few years back for $210k, but I’m not convinced it was the same car–the rear tail light plinths were not molded in on the car sold out of Debbie Reynolds’ estate, marking that car as one of the rare late-’52 models that came just before the new round tail lights for ’53. Yet on this clip (about 10 seconds in) you can clearly see the plinth is molded in just before Grant kneels down behind the car. And anyway, the film premiered in September ’52, just weeks after the first of the few plinthless late ’52 cars left Abingdon. So either someone really did “take off the fenders” or that ain’t the car from that scene in the movie.)In the clip you can see MM was made up as “Marilyn.” Of course, she only looked like that for money, but the shot you’ve found (above) also looks like a model shot. So it’s a little odd that she doesn’t have her Marilyn on in it. If it is MM, she could not be younger in that shot than about 24, because that is how old MM was when MG TDs started coming with slotted wheels.edsnova2015-02-24 21:26:03
