I attached the hood holding cable to one of the bolts that goes through the hood to secure the chrome strip the runs down the center.

There are holes in the bulkhead in front of the engine, about an 1″ gap between the bottom of the engine cover and the rear deck plus the holes in the spare tire rim.

At least it is brass, probably less damage than if something steel was ingested.

I bought a pair of CoCo Mats.  They arrived last week.  I am very happy with quality and fit. $198.60 delivered.

My first car was a 1962 VW Type 1 – Red.  Now have a MGTDR based on a 1974 VW Type 1 – also Red.  Guess things haven’t changed much.

I disassembled and painted my TDR over a Spring Break when my youngest daughter was out of school.  Told her I needed to get car ready for summer but really it was an excuse to be around when she was off of school.  It took me all week plus the associated weekends to get the job done.  If I recall correctly the paint was about $200.

Work has gotten in the way and I will have to miss Carlisle this year.  If any one can use my Showfield Pass willing to donate it.

When I painted my MiGi I disassembled it.  Primary reason was so I didn’t paint the welting between the pieces.  I wet sanded the fiberglass and used an epoxy primer, enamel and clear coat.

My daughter spent a semester at the University of Adelaide.  Went down with there a month before she school started.  Flew in to Sydney and rented a camper van and drove down cost to Melbourne and the up to Adelaide.  Best vacation I have ever had.

There is a stainless steel cable that the wire loom is tie wrapped to.

The engine cover on my FF also tilts backwards from the bottom.  Also have weber progressive that extends into the space under the spare tire.

I have a set of Classic Instruments including Speedo and Tack.  They have an adapter with a cable that goes to the front hub of the VW wheel and ends in an electrical transponder that sends the signal to the Speedo.http://www.classicinstruments.net/
